Revitalising Colchester Sixth Form College Library

Recently we had the pleasure of being selected to take on the task of rejuvenating the Sixth Form College Library in Colchester. The library had a beautiful majestic feel to it with high ceilings and wonderful large Victorian windows.

We were shown old pictures of the unique history of the library, once a gym, by staff who had been employed at the college for over 20 years. We knew we had to do the beautiful old building justice. Work commenced, and we were met with many obstacles, mainly the sheer height of the library and the difficulty of getting to certain areas. However, after blood, sweat, and tears—mainly sweat, as it was so hot in the weeks we worked—the team pulled it over the line! The staff who worked at the college were fabulous and so helpful, all pulled together to assist with the project.
